Accommodations
Mandolin Pier offers a relaxing environment with a variety of lodging accommodations. We have 32 total units, including the original apartment building, three larger waterfront cottages, eight efficiency cottages, six one-bedroom cottages, two small cabanas and one larger ground-floor unit.
Each apartment is fully furnished and comes equipped with bedroom and bathroom linens, a full sized refrigerator, cooktop, microwave, pots, pans, dishes and utensils, a coffee maker and flat-screen TV. Cable, WiFi and weekly housekeeping are also included.
All tenants have access to our private 250’ fishing pier, the community barbeque pits and picnic areas, and a laundromat.
We are an apartment complex, operating on a weekly-rate basis. Many of our tenants are people working in the area temporarily, and the length of their stays are often open-ended. For this reason, we are unable to take reservations too far out into the future, and we must coordinate with you over the phone instead of online. We understand this can make planning difficult, and regret the inconvenience, but adhering to this policy ensures everyone who is promised an apartment actually has one as expected.
Daily rates may be available with a two-night minimum – please call us for availability and pricing.
Mandolin Pier Apartments has a strict policy of no smoking and no pets inside the rooms. Covered smoking areas and receptacles are provided.
Units 1 - 12
The Crew Quarters are charming one-bedroom apartments in the original building which was built around 1980. The entire building was renovated in early 2015. Each apartment received fresh paint, new mattresses, a new cooktop, granite counters in the kitchen and bath, deep kitchen sinks, lights, fans and hardware. The exterior of the building got new siding, an expanded deck and stairs, all new outside doors and windows, lighting, and upgrades to the picnic area.
Unit 13
The Sailor Suite is a larger one-bedroom apartment downstairs in the original building. The former owners’ home, this is the only unit with a full range and a bathtub; all other units have cooktops only and stand-up shower. In early 2015, the Sailor Suite received fresh paint, new appliances (including full range), and all new furnishings. The Sailor Suite has a private screened-in porch that is accessed either off the community picnic area or via a sliding glass door in the dining area.
Units 15 & 16
The Cabanas are our smallest accommodations, built probably around the same time as the main apartment building. They are true efficiency units, quaint and full of character. Located behind the main apartment building, with views of the water through the covered picnic area, they offer privacy and no common walls.
Units 14, 17 & 18, 20 - 24
The Comfy Cottages are newer construction larger efficiency units. These roomy standalone units are packed with storage, and can accommodate up to three people (with inflatable twin mattress). Three Comfy Cottages are located directly behind the main building; they have peekaboo water views from the private outdoor living spaces under each building. Five Comfy Cottages are directly behind the other three; they are slightly larger with larger decks and provide paved parking under each unit.
Units W1 - W3
The Captains Quarters are one bedroom + loft waterfront apartments which opened in July 2015. Each unit has a huge 10x16’ deck where tenants can enjoy unobstructed views of Galveston Bay from the four custom-made Adirondack chairs. The large loft area is accessed via a custom adjustable ladder and has plenty of floor space for play or additional mattresses. These standalone apartments have private staircases and plenty of room to park two full-sized vehicles under each building.
Back Bay Bungalows
Units 25 - 30
